‘Entitled, Feb 14th the track features Amy Jo’s characteristically-droll ruminations on that culturally and religiously
significant, commercially celebrated, and most romantic of occasions – Valentine’s Day. ‘It’s my first-time spending Valentine’s alone/No, it ain’t a struggle, I’ll soak under these bubbles/Tonight, I’ll be just fine on my own’ sings Amy Jo, swooning with indifference. And then, for our benefit, she explains further: “After a period of transformation and self-discovery,” she tells us, “I started to ponder the very concept of Valentine’s Day. I wondered if people would be going on their first date on Valentine’s Day, or maybe for someone else, it will be their last. I thought about the guy that likes someone but is scared to tell them for fear of rejection. And then I thought…what will I be doing? I sat on my bedroom floor with my guitar and within twenty minutes, the entire song was written. Hopefully, the song is empowering, and something that resonates regardless of the situation one finds
oneself in’.
